Description

The ICCRC FSE Exam Prep Course is designed for those who intend to write the ICCRC Full Skills Exam.   Francis has been teaching this intensive in-class prep program since 2007 in Toronto, ON, and Vancouver, BC

What is the Hardest Part of the Exam?

The exam is not about memorizing the IRPA acts & regulations. It is about understanding and IRPA’s applications under different immigration categories as a practitioner in this field. The exam questions are based on scenarios on simulated situations. A potential client comes to your office, and tells you his/her situation: how would you advise him/her leading to a successful application.  There may not be an absolute answer, but may be two very similar answers.  You are expected to analyze the situation, understand the scenario, and select the best answer. There are four choices in each question, and you need to make the most suitable choice.

In my opinion, the exam is not difficult at all.  Passing the ICCRC full skill exam is easier than passing the English language exam.  The key to pass is on understanding the scenario not memorizing the IRPA & regulations. The full skill exam is not test on your legal knowledge of IRPA & regulations but a test of your application & analytical understanding as a practitioner when advising clients.

Is it beneficial to take the ICCRC prep course?

If you need to refresh your understanding and techniques in the application of IRPA as a practitioner, and to have guidance on what to focus on such as the key points and the exceptions, the prep course will be a must.

You should remember that in the exam, ICCRC is looking for your best choice of answer for the specific scenario and not generalization.  One example is:  what if your client wishes to sponsor his/her spouse who has 2 dependent children, and one of the children is an adopted orphan child.  Does the sponsor need to meet the minimum income requirement, and would sponsor calculate the LICO?  If you don’t understand the scenario, you will answer “no”.  However, in this case, you do need to meet the LICO, as the adopted child is an orphan child.  It can take you a while under stress during the exam to find this exception in the Act and Regulations.  The prep course is to help you hit points like that, and how to manage your time.

The key to successfully pass the exam is practice, practice, and practice on scenarios.  If you could get hold of simulated exam questions that would be most beneficial.  You will be given at least 50 questions to practice during the prep course.

Over 90% of previous participants of the prep course have successfully passed the full skill exam. Francis with over 12 years of experience as the instructor of the prep course will share his insights on how to tackle the full skill exam successfully. His previous graduates recommendation say “information can be so overwhelming going through each immigration modules but in this prep course, Francis’ way of teaching helps you organize your thoughts and information to efficiently decide the best answer for each scenario”.  As an experienced practitioner in this field for over 2 decades and an instructor of the Immigration Consultant Diploma program (IMCD), Ashton College, and the main teacher for the ICCRC full skill exam prep course since 2007, you will definitely find his prep program very beneficial.
